Polygon notes

Found polygon on nativeland.ca but my understanding of the description doesn't match/hard to double check ex. "Bound in front by bay of quite shore", Foresters Island resources, Fraser's captain John's island Bowens creek and Shannon river from LS are not on online map sources, maybe need to find an historic rivers of ontario/bay of quinte maybe Shannon river is Salmon river going through Shannonville? Fraser, Alexander. A History of Ontario: Its Resources and Development. Canada History Company, 1907.

Pg. 146 has a letter written by Lord Dorchester to Sir John Johnson with a description of the polygon from the Land Surrenders doc description letter mentions John's island is part of the treaty, not mentioned in LS Johns Island is present day Foresters Island across from Desoronto more on Foresters Island

and more again

Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory on Bay of quinte between Desoronto and Shannonville Mohawks on the Bay of Quinte website>History

originally 92,700 acres, currently 18,000 helpful webpage on the history of the treaty and area

https://mbq-tmt.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Newsletter-July-Issue-10-1993.pdf good resource, confirms river shannon is modern day Salmon River -march 9 2023

more sources, native-land.ca polygon seeming more correct especially after: This article interesting presentation THIS seems most correct

polygon created

polygon created based on the above resource, seems to account for the line in the treaty "bound in the front by the bay quinte", while agreeing with other dimensions from other resources as well. Adjusted to follow shoreline more closely.

Is Bowen's creek the small creek by the Desoronto cemetery? Should look into history of that little creek.
